Elikeh

June 22, 2023 

Elikeh uses elements of Togolese rhythms as a foundation for exploration into American-influenced blues, funk and rock to produce captivating and danceable Afropop tunes. Although based in indigenous traditions, Elikeh’s music has no borders instead exploring global themes.

The group’s leader, Massama Dogo, was born in Togo and developed his singing and songwriting ability performing with several local bands. He also acted as musical director of the University Orchestra in Togo.

CANCELLED: Sol y Rumba

Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Bachata, Cha Cha Cha…Sol y Rumba plays it all.  Their latin music features classic songs from Carlos Vives, Joe Arroyo, Celia Cruz and Juan Luis Guerra. 

Sol y Rumba began in 1993 by founder Maria Isolina. María Isolina started her career with humble beginnings, singing in small coffee shops in the D.C. area to later becoming a multi-award winning and critically acclaimed Honduran singer-songwriter.

Reverend Smackmaster and the Congregation of Funk

Charm City supergroup Reverend Smackmaster and The Congregation of Funk offers a unique blend of Motown, blues, and funky hits from the 60s, the 70s, all the way to today.  They bring the noise, an electric vibe, and a fabulous dance party to Silver Spring Swings Summer Concerts.

The Jarreau Williams Experience

Jarreau Williams’ smooth powerhouse vocals fuse with modern R&B grooves, beatbox, and nostalgic lyrics of self love, unity, perseverance and positive vibes. The frontman for The Jerrau Williams Experience is known as the ‘man with the golden pipes’.  The band has been entertaining crowds at clubs across the DMV with high energy performances.

The Bottom Dwellers

Revelator Hill

Revelator Hill Blues band features master guitarist and founder Bobby Thompson, the fiery vocals of Rachel Ann Morgan, the solid one-two punch rhythm section of scene veterans Gina Cocco on bass and drummer Ben Tufts. Hailing from Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland and D.C., the band plays with a heart full of blues, and a mind on the song.
