This mural was painted by Jorge Somarriba, a Nicaraguan born artist who lives in Gaithersburg. He immigrated to the United States in 1975 and has taught art at the Norwood School in Bethesda. The murals are on the side of the WholeFoods store facing Fenton Street and reflect the multicultural diversity of Silver Spring and represents food as a basic building block of community.
