Buckets & Beats: The Silver Spring Youth Block Party is BACKKKK!!
Get ready for another unforgettable afternoon celebrating Silver Spring’s youth, creativity, and community spirit! Returning for its fourth year, Buckets & Beats will take over Veterans Plaza on Friday, September 18, from 2 to 6pm for an action-packed event filled with music, games, basketball, arts and crafts, prizes, food, and fun.
This year’s event will take place on a half day for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), giving teens and youth the perfect opportunity to kick off their afternoon with friends, entertainment, and community connections.
Hosted by Council Member Kate Stewart and the Silver Spring Regional Services Center, Buckets & Beats brings together youth, families, community organizations, and local partners for a true Silver Spring block party experience.
What to Expect at Buckets & Beats
Whether you’re ready to compete, create, dance, or simply hang out with friends, there will be something for everyone! Attendees can enjoy:
- Basketball tournament and activities
- Live DJ and music throughout the afternoon
- Arts and crafts activities
- Interactive games and entertainment
- Free food and refreshments
- Prizes and giveaways
- Community partners sharing resources and support for youth
