On Monday, April 27, the Silver Spring Citizens Advisory Board (SSCAB) hosted a community roundtable discussion focused on immigrant initiatives, resources, and community support efforts in the Silver Spring region. The meeting brought together residents, nonprofit leaders, and county officials to foster collaboration, share critical resources, and strengthen partnerships supporting immigrant communities.

In attendance were Montgomery County officials including Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (ACAO) Luisa Cardona, Office of Community Partnerships Director Shawn Ellis, Silver Spring Regional Director Jacob Newman, East County Regional Services Director Jewru Bandeh, and Silver Spring Regional Community Projects Manager Cornelius Kuteesa.

Community partners including IRC Silver Spring, TASSC, IMPACT Silver Spring, and Gilchrist Center facilitated breakout group discussions centered on community needs, available services, and opportunities for collective action and support.
