Presented online from December 2–20, the AFI European Union Film Showcase continues its tradition of bringing the best in European cinema to our audiences. Now in its 33rd year, the Showcase features a wonderfully curated selection of 48 films from 25 EU member states, 12 U.S. and North American premieres and seven of the contenders for this year's Academy Award® for Best International Feature Film.
The Showcase opens on December 2 with Martin Provost's comedy HOW TO BE A GOOD WIFE, starring Oscar® winner Juliette Binoche. The Closing Selection, scheduled to coincide with the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth, is German director Niki Stein's sweeping Beethoven biopic LOUIS VAN BEETHOVEN.
