Special Presentation | Q&A with filmmaker Sharon Kleinberg and producer Jaime Tiktin

Mario (Oustin de León) is a 40-year-old transgender cab driver, working to save money to continue his gender-affirming care. But when he cannot afford his medication, a chance encounter leads to an unexpected pregnancy that opens the possibility of fulfilling his dream of having a child. But this is not an easy choice; a pregnancy feels like a rejection of the masculine identity Mario has fought so hard for. With the support of his mostly understanding mother and two sisters, Mario must face his own prejudices and preconceptions and take a step toward the life he desires. De León, a nonprofessional actor, is a revelation as Mario, bringing a deep sensitivity to the role as a trans man himself. Sharon Kleinberg’s directorial debut is an intimate story about identity, body, masculinity and the possibility of reinvention.
