Learn the basics of Break Dancing with Words Beats & Life during this special Teen Summer Reading Event!

Join us as Words Beats & Life presents a workshop on Break Dancing in our 3rd floor programming room! Learn the basic history of the dance and the hip-hop culture, develop B-Boy/B-Girl etiquette, and receive instruction in basic dance skills such as toprock, downrock, drops, power moves, footwork and freezes.

Words Beats & Life (WBL) is DC’s longest running, dopest Hip-Hop based arts educational non-profit. They work to break down those barriers that keep our cities' outstanding young creatives from taking full advantage of the opportunities that come along with living in the Nation’s Capital. Their goal is to invest in DC’s creative ecosystem so artists and creators can be living examples of what our city’s creative youth can accomplish with the right tools and the best role models. They host workshops, after school programs, concerts and festivals aimed at nurturing youth creativity.

For teens, ages 13 to 19.
