We are excited to share that Silver Spring was named America’s Third Most Generous City of 2023 on GoFundMe! Montgomery County had the most donations per capita in the state last year, with Maryland residents contributing over $47 million through half a million donations. This honor reflects our community’s compassionate spirit and commitment to helping those in need, whether through local initiatives, supporting small businesses, or aiding neighbors during tough times. Our city is home to a vibrant nonprofit community, with many organizations dedicated to causes like social justice, environmental conservation, education, and healthcare.
To celebrate this achievement, GoFundMe will be hosting a booth at the FRESHFARM Farmers Market at Veteran’s Plaza on Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop by for a photo booth, delicious treats from local businesses, and free swag!
