Join us on Thursday, March 26 at 7:00 pm for the book presentation and documentary screening of The Lost Trees of Willow Avenue, followed by a conversation with author Mike Tidwell and filmmaker Richard Hall.
The Lost Trees of Willow Avenue: A Story of Climate and Hope on One American Street, by Mike Tidwell, chronicles how the sudden loss of mature trees on a single street in Takoma Park, Maryland, becomes a window into the larger impacts of climate change, urban development, and extreme weather.
In the documentary directed by Richard Hall, author Mike Tidwell gives a tour of his neighborhood, the inspiration for his book. Using one square block, the film shows how the consequences of climate change can be seen on any spot on the planet.
