10th Anniversary

Ava DuVernay's SELMA is an inspirational and gripping drama that chronicles the landmark 1965 voting rights march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, led by Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. (played by a brilliant David Oyelowo). With President Lyndon B. Johnson (Tom Wilkinson) reticent to support the movement and facing violent opposition from Alabama governor George Wallace (Tim Roth) and his cronies, King is caught in a dangerous political maelstrom. Rallying his brothers and sisters in the movement – portrayed by a terrific cast that includes Carmen Ejogo, Oprah Winfrey, André Holland, Wendell Pierce, John Lewis and Common – King's efforts in the face of violent oppression turn into a milestone victory for the civil rights movement. RATED PG-13
