About

How does a schoolyard fight between two 11 year old boys devolve into “the worst day” in the lives of four upper middle class adults? When Veronica and Michael Novak and Annette and Alan Raleigh gather in the Novak’s Georgetown, DC home in 2012 to discuss a playground altercation between their sons, both couples are expecting a civilized and brief conversation to resolve the dispute. As the discussion unfolds, however, the guise of civility begins to crumble, and ugly truths rise to the surface. Winner of the Tony Award for best play and Laurence Olivier Award for best comedy, Yasmin Reza’s God of Carnage (translated by Christopher Hampton) is deemed “[a] streamlined anatomy of the human animal” by The New York Times. Prepare to laugh, gasp, and ask yourself… Do you worship the god of carnage?
