About
The Mid-Atlantic Sports Collectibles and Memorabilia Show is a premier event showcasing the Washington DC region’s growing sports collectibles industry and hobby. Come out to buy, sell, or trade your cards and collectibles, or just to see what the hobby is all about.
Sports and other trading cards are exploding in popularity and value as millions of collectors have recently returned to the hobby. In August, a 1952 Mickey Mantle rookie card sold for $12.6 million, shattering all prior records for the sale of a single sports card. In the early 1990s, at the height of the last baseball card craze, the Silver Spring Armory was home to a recurring sports card show. The Armory was demolished in 1998 to make way for the redevelopment of downtown Silver Spring. Washington DC and its inner suburbs have lacked a significant sports card show for many years. That will end on Sunday, October 9 when sports cards return to downtown Silver Spring at the Mid-Atlantic Sports Collectibles and Memorabilia Show. The Mid-Atlantic Show will take place in the Great Hall of the Silver Spring Civic Building, just steps from where the original Silver Spring Armory once stood. With plentiful free parking in the adjacent Town Square garage and the metro nearby, the Mid-Atlantic Show is certain to draw a crowd of all ages eager to buy, sell, and trade modern and vintage cards and collectibles of their favorite players and teams, as well as popular nonsports cards such as Pokemon, Marvel, and even Garbage Pail kids.
