About

Brought to you by Lumina Theatre Group, whose previous script-in-hand performances include Dickens’s Great Expectations and Bleak House.

When Elizabeth Bennet encounters Fitzwilliam Darcy at a local ball, she finds him distant, snobbish and rude; and he sinks even further in her estimation after she hears damning stories about his character and behavior. But events conspire dramatically to force her to abandon her first impressions and begin to see him in quite a different light… Welcome to PRIDE & PREJUDICE, Jane Austen’s most popular novel, the perfect blend of comedy, romance and satire. In this new adaptation by John O’Connor the Bennet servants act as narrators and commentators to help take the lid off a Regency society as obsessed with money and status as it is with love and marriage. Populated by such comic eccentrics as Mrs Bennet, desperate to land husbands for her five daughters, the haughty and ridiculous Lady Catherine de Bourgh, and her fawning curate Mr Collins, PRIDE & PREJUDICE will bring color, laughter and warmth to the coldest of winter evenings.
