“Fish are friends, not food!” After co-directing and co-writing Pixar’s first four features, Andrew Stanton took the main director’s chair for FINDING NEMO, the emotional tale of a clownfish searching the vast ocean for his missing son. Single father Marlin (Albert Brooks) is an overprotective parent, much to the dismay of his spirited son, Nemo (Alexander Gould), who is eager to make friends and explore his home, Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. When little Nemo is scooped up by humans and put in a fish tank at a dentist’s office, Marlin embarks on a dangerous quest to rescue his boy, joined by Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), a friendly regal blue tang who suffers from short-term memory loss. With its dazzlingly colorful palette, quirky characters and a script that is entertaining for children and adults alike, it is no wonder that FINDING NEMO is one of Pixar’s most beloved films, becoming the first by the studio to win the Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature.
