After starting his career directing industrial films and documentaries in Kansas City, Robert Altman was hired by a local businessman to make this ultra low-budget teensploitation film as his feature debut. Tom Laughlin (BILLY JACK) stars as Scotty White, a college-bound 18-year-old smitten with his girlfriend, Janice (Rosemary Howard). But her well-to-do parents insist she is too young to go steady and forbids the couple from seeing each other. After an altercation at a drive-in, Tom turns to a gang of hot rod–loving greasers to help him reunite with Janice at an out-of-control house party. But the situation spirals out of controls as the gang descends into violence, leaving Tom with dire consequences. DIR/SCR/PROD Robert Altman. U.S., 1957, b&w, 72 min. NOT RATED
