Talent Bios

Gigi Modrich is a Jicarilla Apache Washington, DC based comic originally from New Mexico. She was a part of the First Nations Comedy Experience available on Amazon Prime. She has performed in clubs all across the country including Dangerfield's in New York City, The Funny Bone in Richmond, Virginia, and The DC Improv in Washington, DC. Gigi has opened for Tom Thakkar and performed with Judah Friedlander. She’s sarcastically optimistic and tells jokes that are stimulating enough to provoke thought, but won't prompt a hate crime.

Shea Vassar (NYC)Shea Vassar is a comedy writer, professional tv watcher, and citizen of the Cherokee Nation. She thinks Doritos Flamin’ Hot Cool Ranch chips might just be the greatest thing ever invented and is a The Good Place sun, Bojack Horseman moon, and The Mary Tyler Moore Show rising.

Jamar Hall (Albuquerque)While on stage, Jamar has been described as a cleverly blatant conversationalist. Influenced by the likes of Chris Rock & Rodney Dangerfield, Jamar illustrates his misfortune in a storytelling fashion. One fellow comic has been quoted saying "Jamar adds logic to absurd situations." Jamar has performed throughout the nation with comics like Greer Barnes, Jessica Kirson, Joe Torry and Tommy Davidson. His main goal is to just spread the laughter.

Ixchel is a DC metro based comedian, actor, singer-songwriter, and storyteller. She has featured for Spit Dat in Residence at Woolly Mammoth and The Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum, has performed stand-up for DC Comedy Loft, Callback Comedy, Grassroots Comedy and as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for The Constituents DC at Union Stage. Through her other artistic mediums she has also performed for Constellation Theatre Company, We Happy Few, Imagination Stage, 4615 Theatre, Restoration Stage Rhizome DC and 7DrumCity. Catch her belting as Nina in Lin-Manual Miranda’s musical, “In the Heights” with NextStop Theatre Company from May 12-June 11, 2023, and follow her on IG where she shares more of her shape-shiftin ways.

Adrianna Chalepah From southwest Oklahoma, Adrianne Chalepah attended Riverside Indian School, ran track, and participated in clubs geared at civic engagement. In college, Chalepah performed at open mics, in student films, and sang in choir. After graduating Magna Cum Laude, she went on tour with the comedy troupe, “49 Laughs Comedy.” She later helped found an indigenous femme comedy group "3 Sisters Comedy" and toured the US and Canada. In 2022, Chalepah obtained her MFA in Creative Writing from the Institute of American Indian Arts. In addition, she is a mother of four, a cat mom, and a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. Her acting work can be seen on Netflix's "Spirit Rangers," Peacock's "Rutherford Falls," and FX's "Reservation Dogs." Her stand-up is featured on Amazon Prime and her published literary work is found in Betsy Bird's "Funny Girl: Funniest. Stories. Ever," a collection of women writers.

About Improbable Comedy:
Founded by social-worker-turned-comedy-producer Kim Levone, Improbable Comedy has hosted more than 150 shows in local venues around the DMV. The goal has been to transform the industry by giving the mic to hilarious comedians who have been underrepresented on stage. Since our first show at Vicino's restaurant in 2012, we have brought big laughs to theatres, bars, swanky clubs, and people's homes. We now have regular shows at Busboys & Poets and the Arts Barn as well as bigger events with the Montgomery Parks Department and at the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre.

Please Note: Due to the nature of live performance, we sometimes have to make a last minute change in the lineup of performers. We appreciate your understanding and patience. It is always our aim to present a great show for our audience.

**Important: Please note the venue's covid policies.**
